Eanna Book reviews 4

Angie Sage produced a book series, known as Septimus Heap Wizard Apprentice, which has been acclaimed by The Times, "We can’t get enough. More please!" So, after years of wanting to read this series, I thought I would finally give it a try. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed and frustrated by the lack of story development and hugely slower paced scenes. I just couldn’t get into this book, and didn’t manage to get past the first two hundred pages. It fails to provide the mystery of magic in the first half of the book, which is something I feel is necessary for a children's fantasy book to achieve. With little motivation to read on, and characters that are hard to like, I quickly gave up on this series, and am left frustrated that I bought the whole collection. It does have an interestingly hooked plotline though, know knows, maybe one day I'll give it another go.
